Refocus Student Behavior with Positive Behavior Supports
and Discipline Management Programs

Created to help school administrators, teachers, social workers and psychologists redirect behavior.

Advantage Press Behavior Improvement Programs provide discipline interventions to help students learn from past mistakes. These positive behavior interventions support the components for developing a cooperative attitude, avoiding future mistakes, setting goals and converting constructive suggestions into future actions. Advantage Press Programs provide students with logical and constructive learning activities while they serve time in the office, the classroom, refocus room, as well as detention and suspension rooms and can be included in most every IEP.

Discipline Lessons/Packets from Advantage Press provide the catalyst for change. The approach is positive and non-punitive. Specifically, each discipline learning packet/lesson provides:

  • Information to help students understand why they misbehave
  • Suggestions on why and how to change
  • Short stories about other students making similar mistakes (learning from example)
  • Implications of unacceptable behavior (short and long-term effects)
  • Questions for students to answer about their wrongdoing and the program text they read
  • Goal-setting opportunities to jump-start the improvement process

Detention and Suspension Materials

Research shows that programs that build social, emotional and character skills can result in fewer suspensions, less absenteeism and better reading and math scores.
